Step 1: The Strategic Inquiry (Screening)

Before you quote, you must screen. The "Know Your Customer" (KYC) regulations have tightened significantly this year.
Action: Run every potential buyer through a Restricted Party Screening tool immediately. If they appear on a Denied Persons List (DPL), the process stops there. Do not issue a Proforma Invoice until this green light is visible.

Step 2: The Commercial Foundation

The Proforma Invoice is your negotiation tool, but the Commercial Invoice is your legal declaration.
Critical 2026 Detail: Ensure your HS Codes are valid for the current year. A discrepancy between your Proforma description and your Commercial Invoice classification is the #1 trigger for automated customs audits.
